Rachel E. Churchill

Rachel Churchill currently performs with the Sudbury Symphony Orchestra and teaches flute at Cambrian College and Laurentian University.  Rachel earned a Bachelor of Music Degree in Performance at the University of Toronto and has studied with flautists Camille Watts, Susan Hoeppner and Fiona Wilkinson. 

Rachel has performed with varied ensembles throughout Southern Ontario and can be heard with Toronto-based choir, Voices on their recording, “Rejoice”As well as being a talented flautist, Rachel is an accomplished choral singer and is an Alumnus of the Toronto Mendelssohn Choir and the Toronto Children’s Chorus.

Ian C. Gibson

Ian C. Gibson

Ian Gibson is currently head of Percussion Studies at both Cambrian College and Laurentian University. He is also the Principal Percussionist of the Sudbury Symphony Orchestra.

Ian graduated from the University of Toronto with both a Master and Undergraduate degree in Percussion Performance where he studied with members of the percussion ensemble Nexus. During his studies Ian became the first Canadian Percussionist to win both the Canadian Percussive Art Society (Sabian) and Avedis Zildjian Percussion Scholarships.

Ian has performed throughout North America and Europe and has had the privilege of performing at venues such as Roy Thompson Hall, Carnegie Hall, and on stage with Sir Paul McCartney in Toronto.
